INDIA – A pastor whose life was saved by God’s voice as a teenager, obediently receives a great mission from God as an adult, which almost cost the life of his family. God protected them. This great mission was first ignited by a Midnight Vision of a large dove spreading its wings across the sky and the chilling sight of the Second Coming of Jesus. This great mission has made many missionaries, birthed many churches, and won hundreds of souls to Jesus in the largest populated country in the world!

Pastor Silas Ajnala, Sr. Pastor of Prayer House of God Church, who resides within India, a country with a population of 1.4 billion people, is spreading the Gospel of Jesus through the massive expansion of his ministry. A ministry starting as a family of three, rapidly broadens across India, a predominantly Hindu country, after he saw a vision at midnight and heard God’s voice guiding him to win souls for Jesus. Now, hundreds of people, including the suicidal, depressed, broken-hearted, and sick are receiving salvation, deliverance, creative miracles, and supernatural healing. On top of that, many missionaries are being made.

This is how it started! In 2008, Pastor Silas was working as a private school teacher in Uttar Pradesh, a state located in North India. Then he received a chilling open vision at the hours of midnight. The vision was about the Second Coming of Jesus, which came with lightning and thunder. The terrifying sight of this vision brought shivers to his body and made him afraid. He then saw the Holy Spirit in the form of a big dove that spread it’s wings wide across the mass of the sky.

Afterwards, he heard the voice of the Lord tell him to quit his job to take on a mission that would soon change the lives of multitudes within the largely populated country of India.

“It was light and thundering when I saw the Second Coming of Jesus. It was midnight! I was shivering, I got so much afraid and I saw the Holy Spirit in the form of a dove. The dove was spread all over the sky. It was so big!” exclaimed Pastor Silas as he stretched his arms wide. “Then God spoke to me, ‘Leave your job. I have called you to win souls for Jesus.’”

The next day he left his job and he and his family moved approximately 1,000 miles away to Amritsar City, located in the state of Punjab, a place in close proximity to the border of Pakistan. Amritsar City, is known to have a religion that is mostly Hindu and Sikh. In obedience to God, he started the ministry with his wife and three-year-old son.

At the opening of the church, a frightening moment happened. Around 100 enraged community members came with swords and wooden rods demanding them to close down the church. As this took place, the people began to abuse Pastor Silas. They used profane words, alarmingly grabbed him by the collar, and attempted to kill his wife and his son. The community members began to make threats towards him and his family during this terrifying time of persecution saying:

“We will not allow you to start a church over here. We will kill you! Don’t come tomorrow here in this church. Otherwise, we will burn your church because you came in this place…to change our religion!”

This rowdy crowd drove fear into Pastor Silas for the moment because of the various threats and large numbers of those who were against him and his family. The intimidation he felt caused him not to respond or say anything. Afterward, he locked the doors of the church and went home. He then brought his concerns before the Lord as he wept before God.

“Lord I started a church, and the people are not allowing me to start the church,” prayed Pastor Silas.

This was a significant moment of prayer that did not go unnoticed by God and Pastor Silas would soon come to find out. There is something significant about God speaking at midnight with Pastor Silas. From the chilling vision of Jesus’ Second Coming to God’s voice directing him to quit his job and start a ministry, here it would happen again after Pastor Silas cried before the Lord. As Pastor Silas wept, the Lord zealously responded to him again at midnight!

“My son, do not be afraid,” shared Pastor Silas as he was referring to God’s voice speaking to him at midnight. “‘Because son… the devil is in trouble; he knows that SOMETHING GREAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN over here.’ God spoke to me,” said Pastor Silas.

God told him to go back the next day after he was told not to be afraid. He took heed to the voice of the Lord. With the assurance he received from God, he boldly went back the next day and opened the doors of the church. It was only him, his wife, and his son who were present in the service. They started to pray and sing songs. He waited about three hours and nobody came to stop them. The promises of God already began to manifest. SOMETHING GREAT WAS HAPPENING, just as God told Pastor Silas during the midnight hours.

Astonishingly, the next day, no angry community members came to beat them, kill them, stop them, or burn the church down when they opened the church back up. Pastor Silas figured they would come the next day after that, but nobody came. One week passed, one month passed, and still, nobody came to kill them, stop them, or burn the church. At the same time, no church attendees came either.

Pastor Silas, his wife, and his three-year-old son were the only church attendees. He and his wife continued to be faithful to the work every Sunday. They persistently pursued the mission given by God. They did not stop or close the doors. Finally, the people started to come. Pastor Silas knew the reasoning for this miracle and he proudly shared why.

“You know what happened?” asked Pastor Silas eagerly ready to share God’s goodness with his eyes brightly shining and a smile from ear-to-ear, “We kept on praying for that people…now that very people who came to kill and beat and burn the church, now they started coming in over my church. They are now very good member of my church.”

Prayer and obedience to God pays off! The church started out with his family of three and then quickly multiplied after a period of waiting, laboring, and praying. Suddenly, there was a wind of change through the love of Jesus Christ! The people within the community began to attend service. The same enraged ones who were abusive towards the family and demanded the church to be closed, spectacularly transformed into a loving community, who love God, embrace the family, and are now faithful members of the church.

The persistence and obedience of the family caused the church membership within Prayer House of God Church to evolve from three to hundreds by the hand of God. Now, Prayer House of God Church is so full, that people have to stand outside because there is no more room on the inside.

“It was the beginning of the church. That time me, and my wife, and my son only were there. We did not stop, we did not close the door. We kept on praying. We kept on coming in the church every Sunday,” explained Pastor Silas. “Now that very church is filled with the people; and even the people stand on the outside because there is no more place to stand. That very community is changed. Now they are very good people…they love us so much!”

Most of the members drawn to Prayer House of God Church are those who are depressed and suicidal. According to Pastor Silas, there is a spirit within India that has caused depression and suicide to sweep through the country. He can talk about it from first-hand experience because it happened to him when he was in his teens. At the age of 15 or 16, he was suicidal, he nearly took his life three times due to the fear he had within his heart.

“When I was a very young boy, 15 or 16 years old, three times I tried suicide…to kill myself. The third time when I was alone in my room and I had no peace in my heart…I said, this is my last time to try. Third try, I will,” said Pastor Silas as he reflected on his past as a teen. “There was no peace, there was so much fear in my heart. So I said it was better to die.”

On his third and final attempt to commit suicide, something unexpected happened. It was afternoon when this took place. His father, mother, and sisters were not at home. He grabbed a rope and put it on the ceiling fan so he could hang himself. According to research, “hanging by rope”, accounts for “31.5%” of methods used for suicide in India, which is the second common method, “poison by consumption” is the first common method, which is at “33.6%” (Radhakrishnan R, Andrade C, 2012). He prepared to wrap the rope around his neck but was interrupted in the process. SOMETHING GREAT HAPPENED. God intervened!!!! He heard the voice of God speak to him for the first time!

“When I was going to put the rope on my neck, then the one Voice came, ‘Silas, I love you.’ And when I heard that Voice, it was like, I saw that someone calling to me and I came out and I saw no one is there. But that Voice was so loving, so beautiful, and I throw my rope and I kept on weeping like one hour. Then again, one Voice came me, “I am Jesus, I love you, and I have a GREAT PLAN for your life.”

God’s voice caused him to throw the rope down. After this life-changing encounter with God as a teenager happened, he did not go through with ending his life by suicide. Instead, he started his spiritual life by going to a church nearby to learn more about Jesus. He asked for forgiveness for his sins. He gave his life to Jesus and accepted Him as his personal Savior. He changed his life, including his friends. He began to attend church regularly and studied his bible. Jesus gave him the peace he needed.

“I gave my life to Jesus. I accepted Jesus as my personal Savior. God changed my life and now there is peace in my heart. You know why peace is in my heart? Because Jesus is in my heart.”

The experience Pastor Silas had as a teenager was not only to impact him personally, there was a bigger and GREATER picture that he began to walk into through his life of service in ministry. God has placed the breakers anointing on Prayer House of God Church to break the spirit of suicide and depression in others.

Since Pastor Silas overcame suicide by God’s hand, God is using Prayer House of God Church in India to intervene and save those who are also suicidal and depressed. He preaches and counsels, mostly to those who have depression. Pastor Silas shared that in India, there is a high percentage of suicide, rejection, and depression due to poverty, being orphaned, sexual abuse, and being a victim of sex slavery. Pastor Silas says these problems cause hurt and the spirit of rejection starts to work in their life. Pastor Silas refers to Isaiah 61 often, as he counsels them, which has a passage about Jesus’ coming to heal the broken-hearted.

“Most of the ministry I am doing, the people are in depression, who are making plans to [commit] suicide. So through my ministry, God is bringing out so many people out of depression. Most of my ministry has deliverance from the spirit of suicide. So a lot of people are coming out. Hundreds of peoples got saved through my ministry who were going to kill themselves and God changed their life, now they are very good church believers!”

As one can see, GREAT things are happening at Prayer House of God Church. The Holy Spirit is moving among them through signs, miracles, and wonders. They are being baptized and God is healing people in various ways. People are receiving deliverance and restoration. Those who are suicidal and depressed are also finding life and their freedom in Jesus Christ.

Recently, they witnessed a creative miracle of God. A man who had no toes due to cancer in his foot received healing by the power of God. His foot is now restored with toes that were not there before. New toes??? This in itself is a miracle that can only be created by God through the name of Jesus.

Cancer came out of a woman during a healing prayer service!

Another miracle that has happened among them includes a man who didn’t take a shower for 36 years. This man received God’s healing power. After they prayed for him, he went home, took a shower, and returned the next Sunday. The man testified that God changed his life and he took a shower. These are just a few examples of the many miracles they are witnessing by the power of God!

Pastor Silas desires to see the same wonder-working power of God happen all over India. He wants it to be spread throughout all of the cities, states, and remote places in India…places that have not heard of Jesus. He believes one method of accomplishing that goal is by having crusades.

“Our ministry is reaching the very unreached areas where the name of Jesus is not yet preached. What we do, we go to that place. We do two-day or three-day healing crusades.”

Pastor Silas shared that 1 billion of the 1.4 billion people in India have not heard about Jesus. India, recently surpassed China, as the largest populated country in the world. The United Nations Data shows us that India has an estimated population of 1,428,527,663, slightly ahead of China, which has a population of 1, 425,671,352. Statistics show that only 2.3% of India’s population are Christians.

According to the Pew Research Center, it is projected that Hindus and Muslims will increase, while expecting the percentage of Christians in India to remain somewhat the same, slightly dropping to 2.2% in 2050. But God has another plan for the Christians! It is SOMETHING GREAT! He is using Pastor Silas’ ministry, along with many other ministries, to cause an increase of Christianity at a rapid rate!

Prayer House of God Church is making moves to increase the percentage of Christians represented in India from the minority to the majority. They are doing that by having two to three-day healing crusades with a mission to reach every corner of India in the places that have not heard of Jesus.

They travel sometimes 1,500 to 2,000 miles by car to reach every state within India. To locate these places, the ministry does research and uses data to obtain the areas that need to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ, then they have crusades there. Before the crusade happens, they knock on house doors within these areas telling them they are going to have a crusade. They encourage them to bring their sick, those who have demons, or those who have a problem in their lives to come!

The people they invite attend the services and witness the power of God being demonstrated through signs, miracles, and wonders. In the crusades, these people hear about Jesus and learn that salvation is found in Him alone. When they see and hear how God is working, they accept Jesus.

“After the crusade, we get a people like a 10 people, 15 people, 20 people, 100 people. Then we start a church there after the crusade. We start a church there because we don’t leave the people over there to whom we have a preached. The people who have believed in Jesus,” said Pastor Silas.

After these churches begin in unreachable places, Prayer House of God Church appoints missionaries and a pastor in these churches. They provide them with monthly financial support so they can maintain the churches and take care of the flock of people who have been saved. Pastor Silas has made it his duty to visit these ministries once a month. These ministries are also experiencing rapid growth of souls being won to Jesus.

In addition to that, his ministry is training leaders within different states every month. The training sessions last about 3-4 days. They book a hotel or find a set place to stay for these sessions. They provide accommodations such as food and travel allowance. The training sessions include a discipleship program and a leadership seminar. They stay in the area for approximately one week to train the missionaries. They learn about sound biblical doctrine to provide a strong foundation for their church members and their ministry.

They provide the missionaries with discipleship books, notes, and biblical materials. They give the missionaries New Testament Bibles to give to people and a note that says they can preach. The training is about winning souls for Jesus and teaching them from the bible. After that, the missionaries go to their community to start a church.

“God has put a vision in my heart to train hundreds and hundreds of missionaries and we are doing that,” Pastor Silas proudly states.

Remember the first church Pastor Silas started that originally had three people, which was him, his wife, and his son? He is happy to report that they now have two sons. His family has grown from three to four.

They also constructed a building for the first church to fit 200 people due to congregation growth. Now 400 people are coming to hear the message of Jesus and worship every Sunday!

Recently, they bought new land in faith to have a building there to hold 2,000 people. They believe in God to open doors financially for the construction of the new building on the land.

His biggest goal is to start a training center to train missionaries. Upon completion of their training, they will be sent throughout India. The missionaries will be equipped to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and start churches.

“In India, we do not have much Bible Colleges or Training Center, where we can give the training to the missionaries. So God has put a big vision and big burden in my heart…to start a training center where we can train hundreds of missionaries and send them all over India to preach the good news of God and start churches…soon India will be a Christian country.”

Pastor Silas is determined to train and send out missionaries all over India. His ministry is making it a mission to support them financially every month so they can work for Jesus. God has also placed it on his heart to see many church buildings around India.

“It is always in my heart for a church buildings. Every corner of India, we may build church buildings,” says Pastor Silas.

Pastor Silas concluded the interview with a remarkable statement. These few words are something that is heralded across the globe in the hearts of many. It is important that we make preparations for SOMETHING GREAT, or better yet, SOMEONE GREAT.

“Jesus is coming soon. You know, Jesus is coming soon!”

Yes indeed, our Savior, Jesus Christ, will one day return! We should all look forward to the Second Coming of Jesus. The open vision that God gave to Pastor Silas about the Second Coming of Jesus is real. The open vision he had about the dove being spread is also true. The dove represents the Holy Spirit and the wings spread can signify that God is spreading His Spirit to many. In this case, God is using Pastor Silas and his ministry to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ across India to many….making many disciples and missionaries.

He requests your prayer and intercession for the country of India and his ministry due to the high levels of spiritual warfare and persecution. God is using him and his ministry to make a difference. Many are being won to Jesus and receiving salvation.

“We just need prayer, because we are doing something big here, SOMETHING GREAT here…we are winning souls for Jesus. Cover us through your prayer.”
