Greetings, brothers and sisters! I hope you’re doing well. Today, I want to encourage you about our pains. Whenever we go through struggle or hardship, God has a plan—because “we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose” (Romans 8:28). He knows how to turn our worst situations into good purposes.

We can’t empathize with others’ pain if we haven’t walked it ourselves. We can’t grasp the weight of sickness if we’ve never felt it; hunger, if we’ve never gone without; depression, if we’ve never faced it. Not everyone can help everyone, but what we’ve endured—whether depression, loss, poverty, or sin—equips us to help someone. One day, you’ll lift another out of the same darkness you faced. So, whatever you’re feeling today, God is preparing you for a greater purpose.

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.” — 2 Corinthians 1:3-4
