Adversity is often the companion of advancement. The notion that favor always feels like comfort is a deception—one that seduces many into spiritual complacency. Favor is not synonymous with ease. In fact, it often provokes resistance.
Paul declared, “A great and effectual door has been opened unto me, but there are many adversaries” (1 Corinthians 16:9).

The door was great, it was effectual, it was an opportunity for impact, movement, and momentum—yet adversity stood on the other side. Why? Because the enemy doesn’t fight what isn’t a threat.
Likewise, David said, “You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies” (Psalm 23:5).
The provision and promotion were real, but so was the warfare. The presence of enemies does not negate the presence of God—it confirms it.

Diamonds are only formed under pressure. Growth demands discomfort. Progress invites opposition. You don’t get attacked when you’re idle. You get attacked when you’re advancing.

If you’re under fire, under pressure, or under scrutiny—it’s not a sign of failure. It’s a sign you’re in motion. Those who sit still rarely attract criticism. But those who dare to rise, build, move, and obey God will always stir resistance. You’re shaking atmospheres. You’re challenging norms. You’re threatening darkness. That’s why the attack is intense.
So don’t retreat. Don’t fold. Don’t mistake adversity as abandonment. It’s confirmation: You’re on the right track.
