The journey of Jesus throughout the Holy Week was extraordinary, historical, and extremely significant. Each day demonstrated His love for mankind and the eternal message He was sending to us. His actions, words, and journey during the Holy Week before the day of His crucifixion teach us about the journey in our own lives.
Holy Week will take place April 13-19, 2025.

God wants us to understand that we walk in victory because He is alive within us. He wants our bodily temple to remain holy as we continue to bear fruit within our lives by the guidance of His Spirit. Know that our walk will not always be easy, but with His strength we can do all things. Why? He paved the way while He walked the earth and set the ultimate example for us. He paid the way for us when He died upon the cross for our sins.
Let’s take some time to see what Jesus was showing us throughout the Holy week:

PALM SUNDAY – Jesus enters Jerusalem triumphantly, the people recognize Him as the King of Israel. (Matthew 21:1-11, Mark 11:1-11, Luke 19:28-44, John 12:12-19)
He has given you the victory as you make Him the King in your life!
HOLY MONDAY – Jesus cleanses the temple with righteous indignation reminding them that it is a House of Prayer. He curses the fig tree for not bearing fruit. (Matthew 21:12-22; Mark 11:15-19; Luke 19:45-48)
Make sure your bodily temple remains clean. Stay in prayer and stay in His Word. Bear fruit by multiplying. Go and make disciples.
HOLY TUESDAY – Jesus is questioned by the religious leaders, such as the Pharisees and Sadducees within the courts of the temple. (Matthew 22:15-45; Mark 12:13-27, 35-40; Luke 20:20-47)
You will be questioned. Many may not understand you, but you are a peculiar person. You are in this world but not a part of this world. Stand strong. Do not forget who you are. Your strength is in Him…not in man.
HOLY WEDNESDAY – Jesus is betrayed by Judas Iscariot, one of his disciples. (Matthew 26:1-5, 14-16; Mark 14:1-2, 10-11; Luke 22:1-6)
Betrayal happens, even by those who are closest to you. Positively, we serve a God who sticks closer to us than a brother. Always remember that.
MAUNDY THURSDAY – Jesus washes the feet of His disciples (John 13:5-7).

Washing the Feet: Remain humble. It is important to serve others. Remain free from pride. Jesus came to serve and He is the King of kings. Who are we as servants of the King of kings, not to do the same?
The Last Supper & Communion (Matthew 26:17-30; Mark 14:12-25; Luke 22:7-20; and John 13:1-30).
The Last Supper & Communion: Fellowship with our brethren in remembrance of Jesus is important as we sup at the table of the Lord. Unity is the key to growth, success, and the maintenance of love.
Fellowship with Him through our life of worship, prayer, and reading of His Word is our way of communing with Him. When we eat the bread and drink the wine, we are identifying with Jesus and the sacrifice He made for us. We should never take Him or the sacrifice He made for granted.
Jesus predicts Peter’s denial (John 13:37-38).
Prediction of Peter’s Denial: Close ones may deny us…but stand strong in the faith. Man will fail us but God never will.
Jesus prays at the garden of Gethsemane (Matthew 26:36-46; Mark 14:32-42, Luke 22:39-46).

Prayer at Gethsemane: Stay in prayer always…even when situations and all odds are coming against you. Sometimes this walk may be lonely, but those who are in Christ are never alone. Greater is He who is in you…than He who is in the world.
GOOD FRIDAY – Jesus’ stands in trial, is beaten, mocked, and a crown of thorns is placed upon His head (John 18:28-19:16). The crucifixion of Jesus begins at 9:00 am. It concludes when Jesus dies at 3:00 pm on the cross (John 19:18-24).
Our life is not our own. There is a time and season for everything. We may go through trials, mockery, and may even experience persecution for our faith. When we accept Jesus, we are crucified with Christ. Our daily walk may not always be easy, but a life with Jesus is always worth it!

HOLY SATURDAY – Jesus’ body lays within the tomb. (Matthew 27:62-66; Mark 16:1; Luke 23:56; and John 19:40)
Even when it seems like nothing is happening, something great is on the horizon. This is a time when your faith is in operation. Things are happening in the background that you may not see with your physical eyes, which is about to bring your breakthrough. Hold tight. There is power in the waiting!
RESURRECTION SUNDAY – Jesus is no longer in the tomb. The tomb is empty!!! He is Risen!!! (Matthew 28:1-13; Mark 16:1-6; Luke 24:1-49; and John 20:1-31).
He is risen! The victory is won! His victory is our victory. We are a victorious people! We are no longer spiritually dead, but alive in the Spirit through Christ, the Risen One!
Amen! As we reflect on the journey of Jesus through this holy week, we see His holy passion and unfailing love for us. Good Friday had to happen. The payment had to be made for our sin. Jesus completed the work and saved mankind on this HOLY AND GOOD FRIDAY with the sacrifice of His very life!
We are now ONE with Christ for those who believe in Him. He is the Messiah! He will one day return for His holy bride without spot, wrinkle, or blemish! May your walk and holy journey on earth, reflect the Holy One who now lives and dwells within you, Jesus Christ! He showed us the way…now it is our turn to follow. To God be the Glory.
