JAMAICA – An evangelistic ministry in the tropics of Jamaica is supernaturally birthed through a conference and a touching news story about a mother in dire need of help during the pandemic. The ministry’s purpose is to help the poverty-stricken, educate the unlearned, and expand the Kingdom, by patterning it with Jesus’ ministry of feeding the five thousand. Communities are being changed and lives are reshuffling through God’s Spirit and the obedience of a servant whose heart’s passion is evangelism.

Apostle Heather White-Davis McDonald, an ordained apostle, founder, director, and CEO of Reshuffle Outreach Ministry, was greatly tasked to evangelize in far unreachable places on the island to help communities through outreach. God is using her ministry to do mighty exploits in Jamaica, by reshuffling needy families out of poverty and resetting them into a place of purpose, with a strategic approach through evangelism.

Apostle Heather believes evangelism is important within the island of Jamaica for a greater expansion of the harvest. Some concerns have hindered the progression of the harvest to a degree. To see a change there has to be camaraderie amongst the leadership according to Apostle Heather. Here is what she has to share about the matter.

“I believe that some of the clergy and leadership body that makes up God’s ministry here on the earth, has somewhat drifted from the old landmark of fellowship with one another, the brotherhood, and standing in that gap for evangelism. We saw when Christ was on earth, He emphasized the Great Commission, Matthew 28:19-20.”

Jesus was a great evangelist and taught us the high significance of fellowship. Apostle Heather firmly believes the foundational approach for the Great Commission given by Jesus must be reset and restored. This mission is all about evangelism in a way that incorporates physical provisions to obtain more souls.

“When I look at the Body of Christ in Jamaica, it’s more about the indoors. So the outdoor evangelism sector is lacking. The mission work to feed the poor, the needy, the less fortunate, the orphans, and the widows, needs to be more grounded and more firm,” says Apostle Heather. “I believe if we could tighten up on evangelism and outreach ministries it will somehow [minimize] the level of violence and crime.”

According to statistics, “in 2023, the highest homicide rate among 20 Latin American and Caribbean countries surveyed was in Jamaica, with around 60.9 murders committed per 100,000 inhabitants. Ecuador came in second, with a homicide rate of 44.5, while Honduras ranked fifth, with 31.1. In the same year, the lowest rate was recorded in El Salvador, with a homicide rate of 2.4 per 100,000 inhabitants.” Apostle Heather has faith that the high crime rate and related issues will resolve itself if the physical needs of the less fortunate are supported.

As Christ was on earth, He fed the people. She states that this should be applied to evangelism as well. She mentioned that if people are given physical food, the spiritual food will be easy to digest. God commissioned her during the hard times of COVID-19 to do what seemed impossible, and the Lord showed up as the Faithful One as always.

On Dec. 5, 2020, the Reshuffle Outreach Ministry launched first as a conference during the pandemic.

While COVID was shuffling people out of position into hard times, Apostle Heather was propelled by God to start a ministry that would “reshuffle” them into a strong position of getting back on their feet.

During that same time, Apostle Heather happened to see a news story on TV Jamaica about a poverty-stricken mother with seven children who were living in deplorable conditions. When she saw the story, something stirred within her spirit to do something about it. God placed it on her heart to provide food and housing but did not know how the money would come. God assured her that He would provide. This God-given mandate is when the Reshuffle Conference transformed into Reshuffle Outreach Ministry.

Mission: The Greater Grace to Endure Transformation. With the trials that come with life, there’s a greater grace that will be given to endure the Transformation that will come.

Vision: Reshuffled. Reset. Restored

Dec. 6, 2020, the day after the conference ended, she searched for the mother and found her. The mother was living in a board structure with a floor of dirt. Rats the size of cats ran through the house, and anyone from the outside could see the inside of her house. When the rain came, the place would flood out. When Apostle Heather arrived there, the government had already taken five of the seven children. The mother was left with the baby; another child was taken by a relative.

The Lord began to instruct Apostle Heather on what to do. She partnered with “Food for the Poor,” a charitable organization that helps fight poverty, along with other donors and sponsors from overseas and Jamaica to receive assistance. As a result, they provided housing for the mother and her sister’s family, who was a mother of five. After the success of helping this family, Apostle Heather was propelled to continue to help the less fortunate, which is when the Reshuffle Outreach Ministry began to make a difference in the lives of many.

“So going forward, for those who are in a less fortunate position, not having substantial assistance from maybe family or the church, that’s what’s on my spirit to do, to get assistance from the different corporate societies who can come on board to build houses for those who can’t afford it.”

Since they have aided this mother, they have witnessed many others who benefited from the program have a complete turn-around. One of the mothers they interviewed had a wonderful transformation in her life. She is now working, and going to school, and her kids are gaining weight. They are extremely grateful for the assistance. With this in mind, Apostle Heather began to share how providing for those in need has produced much more than assistance, it is causing them to be more in life.

“I realized that if somebody is given a chance, they don’t only need the fish and bread. They will become fishermen instead of just getting the fish and the hand-out.”

Apostle Heather White-Davis McDonald

There was a reason why Jesus used fish and bread while making disciples.  Apostle Heather is utilizing the same strategy by meeting the physical needs of the people in a mission to reach their spiritual needs. They have attempted to work on other projects to get assistance from “Food For the Poor.” She emphasized that to get this help with housing material from Food for the Poor, whoever needs assistance has to have proper documents for the land. So if this is missing, it can cause some challenges. For instance, they had to lease a piece of land and obtain a title for the mother of seven they helped.

The Lord placed it on the heart of Apostle Heather to build houses and hostels. Hostels, meaning flats, conveniently contain a one-bedroom, kitchen, and a bathroom. She wants to set up a few of those for people who don’t have anywhere to go. With this, she has it in mind to take the less fortunate in and rehabilitate them.

Another need that Apostle Heather identified is that some adults cannot read, which can cause limitations. She didn’t wait for someone to solve the problem. God gave her a strategy to partner with a professional teacher located in Georgia to start a reading club. This dedicated minister is actively sacrificing one hour every Tuesday to help adults who cannot read well from the kindergarten level and up, which gives them the opportunity to read the Word of God.

“We have incorporated that program of teaching them. In order to know the Word of God, you must study and read,” stated Apostle Heather.

She mentioned the Lord has guided her to other parishes in Jamaica that many would consider to be “off the map” or “far from societies/civilization.” These are the places that are sometimes forgotten, overlooked, or simply rejected due to the distance. One of them is a community in the parish of Portland called Bybrook. She spoke with a bishop in this area and sensed that the community was in poverty. She organized a team to go there for three days and preach the word. They provided food, clothes, and shoes afterward. The community, which consisted of people of all ages, both the believers and the unbelievers, and even farmers, came out and were so happy.

“That gave us joy, like when Christ fed those five-thousand,” said Apostle Heather. “For that, it has placed a soft spot in my heart to continue doing more.”

Her main focus for the outreach ministry is to cover God’s people in all areas. This includes providing a roof over their head, having a sound education, food, clothes, and basic necessities. Not only will many be won to Christ, but they will be equipped to help themselves, and help others. In other words, be fishers of men. They also provide school supplies to the children.

Currently, Apostle Heather, along with faithful members within her ministry, continue to evangelize in ways that go beyond the four walls of the indoors. Not only are they providing housing and basic necessities to communities in remote locations, they are going to the streets at various sites, as a means to win the lost, and it is succeeding.

Recently, a young lady who came to one of the street meetings was crying uncontrollably because she just lost her fiancé due to a shooting. Apostle Heather called her up and began to minister to her. She was encouraged by the word she received and gave her life to the Lord that very night. These street meetings are so effective that people in the area come back to visit. This is something to shout about. It is the Great Commission at work, which is all about drawing souls and making disciples!

“I major in evangelism. I love the souls of God’s people.”

Apostle Heather White-Davis McDonald

Indeed, evangelism is one of Apostle Heather’s greatest passions. God uses her in many other ways such as winning souls by preaching the Word, baptizing them, and prophesying to God’s people through ministry both indoors and outdoors within Jamaica.

She ministers through radio, her book, and by traveling abroad to different nations. No matter how the Lord tells her to bring people to Him, she is with her whole heart.

Apostle Heather is the author of Breaking Those Track Records of Abuse, which can be purchased on Amazon. She is a radio broadcaster at Omega Station with a radio talk show called “Let’s Reason.” She is the visionary of Chosen Ones Ministry. She is also appointed as pastor for Evangelism Family Life Ministries (EFLM), by the visionaries Drs./Pastors Sheldon and Natalie Evans, as a regional overseer for Jamaica consisting of two branches in Spanish Town and St. Elizabeth. She is a wife, mother of three children, and grandmother of three grandchildren. She is also an entrepreneur with a clothing store called Yes Delicious/YesStyles Fashions.
