PAKISTAN – Faisalabad is currently shining brightly on the map for massive reproduction in soul-winning for Jesus Christ by Kingdom shakers! Two brothers, Pastor Luqman Patris and Evangelist Umar Shahzad, of Victory Life Church and Ministries of Pakistan located in the city of Faisalabad, share their story about how their God-given ministry has made a difference to the masses. Lives are being set free, the hungry are being fed, and the gospel of Jesus is being spread!

In 2007, Pastor Luqman and Evangelist Shahzad began working for the Lord under the leadership of pastors and professors. They learned from them, followed their biblical teachings, and served. Once the process was complete, they began to go to various areas that many pastors wouldn’t go to in Pakistan. With bravery, focus, and commitment, they ministered where the gospel wasn’t being preached, and taught the people the Word of God. 

By 2015, their ministry officially began. Since then, it has increasingly catapulted into a rapid growth of new believers in Christ. The phenomenal growth is amazingly evident! New souls for Jesus are multiplying and faithful workers are duplicating. These faithful workers contain fifteen team members, who joined the ministry’s mission. They too, were able to experience the saving power of God.

As time progresses they continue to see the hand of God move as they diligently serve the community. Victory Life Church and Ministries of Pakistan is now having crusades, hosting people from the USA and the United Kingdom. They have big revivals, prayer meetings, school meetings, and baptisms every year. 

They are going to the unreachable places and sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ where there is no electricity, no television, feeding the hungry, and reaching the lost. This in itself is a miracle because Pakistan is predominately an Islamic country. 

They now have three churches, a women’s teaching center, and a Christian school that provides free education to over 500 students. The teaching center is led by women who teach the female students proper etiquette, like how to dress in a presentable manner. Among the teachers are the wives of these two brothers (Sister Anam, wife of Evg. Umar, and Sister Nazia, wife of Pastor Luqman.) Some of the students consist of victims of abuse, slaves, and orphans. After one year they give them a diploma.

Believers in Jesus are of the minority in Pakistan. They suffer persecution, but stand strong in their God. On August 16, 2023, there was an attack against the believers. The houses of God, holy items inside, and the homes of some of the believers were burned.

But that did not stop them from believing in God. The believers continued to worship and worked together as one unit to get everything back in order. They did not allow fear to grip their hearts.

“They can destroy our churches, destroy our houses, but they cannot remove Christ from our hearts,” said Evangelist Umar.

According to Pastor Luqman, there are concerns in Faisalabad. This includes financial struggles due to a lack of jobs and bad living conditions. Slavery also exists there, such as people in forced labor who have been purchased as slaves to work at brick factories. Some of these slaves consist of children who are forced and beaten to work, even when they are sick. They are served food that is not good for them. God has used these brothers and the team members of their ministry to help with this issue. 

“God gave us the ability like Moses,” says Pastor Luqman to help the slaves. “They come to the meetings and we feed them.” 

There are also remote places, such as Hyderabad, a city in Pakistan, where there is no clean water. Positively, God is using their ministry to make a difference among these existing problems.

“There is a big problem. There is no clean water,” states Pastor Luqman. “We give them hand pumps there and the people are drinking clean water. We have arrangements there. We are working there, and the people are accepting Christ.”

Hindus and Muslims live in these places and they are also listening to the gospel and being saved.

God is changing the community through this ministry. It’s important to note that the ministry’s success, has not come by so easily. 

It continuously requires perseverance, vision, teamwork, the guidance of God, and most importantly their complete dependency on God – especially when it comes to finances. By the grace of God, God is providing for them, through people giving, and through a group of fifteen team members who come together every month and give their tithe to maintain the ministry’s mission. That mission is to reach the lost and make disciples. 

“Our focus is to grow and reach the lost. Our vision is to reach, teach, mend, and send. God knows what we need. He came to the earth and He was making disciples. This is a big example for us. So we need to make disciples, especially in Pakistan and around the world.”

The ultimate goal for Victory Life Church and Ministries of Pakistan is to build a program for those in slavery as a way to reach the lost. The dream vision for Pastor Luqman and Evangelist Umar is to build a church and 300 homes for the Christian community in their area. They want to pay off the debt for the slaves, set them free, and give them homes. 

“We will give them everything there. This is my big vision. This is a very lengthy process, but we know God is good all the time. He will give us the ability in the Mighty Name of Jesus,” states Pastor Luqman with confident faith.
