The biblical meaning of “3” is “perfection, reproduction, life, divine wholeness, completeness.” We can see THREE represented in the bible through the Holy Trinity: God, the Father, God, the Son, & God, the Holy Spirit. Our God is THREE but one. When God speaks, He often speaks through the number THREE. We can find the importance of the number three in the Word of God.
“Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves.
A cord of THREE strands is not quickly broken” (Ecclesiastes 4:12 NIV).
This scripture shows us that two is increasingly better than one when it comes to accomplishing something. We must also know that it is even more powerful if three are at work together. The Word of God refers to the strength of a “cord of three strands” being harder to break. Which is so true, if you had a choice to depend on a cord of two verses three to serve as a means of strength for something you are trying to hold up, I am sure you would choose the stronger one, right? I know, I would. Especially, if that cord is something that is supposed to save your life. We all would want the more promising one.
Well, we can apply this same concept to the importance of three. In the Word of God, the Holy Trinity…”Tri-Nity”. “Tri” meaning three is the primary example of the power of three! Through the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit, we see how the results of the offices of the three demonstrate perfection, life, reproduction, divine wholeness, and completeness.
